This is required mathematically simply by the greater radius of the flat and circular Earth you propose, and there would be no way to fly it in under a day.

The sun is rising and going down to our perspective. Even in the flat earth narrative the sun doesn’t really rise or go down, am I right? The sun appears to rise and go down in both models. So if you take this verse literally, then the description doesn’t fit both models. In the flat earth model the sun stays on the same height, if I’m correct, and it only appears to rise and go down because of perspective, not because it really is rising and going down.
The story about Joshua and the sun standing still is a very mysterious story. I think it’s written in the phemonological style, which means it’s dscribed in what appeared to be. Again, also in this verse it says ‘‘ So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day’’. So the sun hasted not to go down. In flat Earth the sun doesn’t go down either. It just floats behind a point where you can’t see it anymore. So if you take this literally, you have disproven the Flat Earth viewpoint too.
All things considered, we must not read the bible as we read a scientific book. In the ancient world there was no such thing as science. Same goes with numbers being used, the Hebrews didn’t even have a numerical system, they used the alphabet for writing numbers down (they didn’t have a zero as we do). They only cared about the meaning of a number, not if it was literally the case, because only the meaning is a literal case, so to speak. It’s all about ratio and symbols, not literal numbers, no literal descriptions. If you read the bible that way you will get lost.
For example: the word for Truth in Hebrew is: Emeth (the numerical value of letter: 1-4-40-400
The Hebrew word for Death is Meth (numerical value of letters: 4-40-400)
You see that if you take the 1 (the Aleph - which stands for the oneness of God) out of the word for Truth you get Death. That’s how the numbers work in Hebrew.
It has symbolical meaning. The word symbol means: to fall into eachother (or something along those lines), That’s why the word for Devil in Greek is Diabolos (which means to throw apart). We, modern people, tend to think that a symbol is something arbitrary.
The word for Snake in Hebrew is Nachash, in numerical value: 50-8-300 (total 358). The wordt for Messiah is Maschiach with also a total of 358. The Messiah replaces the old serpent. That’s why this is written: And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up (John 3:14)
