These forums are brand new, and there are lots of features. Some tweaks might be needed here and there as well.
If you have questions about how the forums work, feel free to ask here. You can also post suggestions regarding their general design, such as fonts, colors, layout, etc. I might have overlooked some annoying details that could be fixed.
I’m noticing with tictock. the links play when I post but after awhile they act broken.
I check the original where I grabbed it from and it’s still Good
The software is set up that way to prevent spamming. Your daily limit of likes and other things is based on your “trust level,” which automatically increases as you participate in the forums. After a while, most limits will be lifted and some additional features will be made available.
Thanks for hosting the forum again VC. The only thing I’m having trouble with is how the formatting is aggravating my OCD
I’ll try to explain: say there is a header like Current Events. So I start a thread called UFOs. I post an article UFOs are Real. It gets replies. All replies would be in that post. Somebody posts a new article in the UFOs thread Bases on the Moon. All replies should go into that post which should be separate from the UFOs Are Real post under the thread UFOs. So it seems now that if you make a thread, all replies and new posts/articles would then just be one long scroll under the original thread instead of creating a different article line with replies contained in each new post. Is that making sense? Or am I just losing it? I’ll try to show an example:
Current Events
Thread: UFOs
Post:UFOs Are Real
Replies
Post: Bases on the Moon
Replies
Post: Underwater UFOs
Replies
All the replies to the post are self contained in the post within the thread. The way it is now tho, the replies to the first post UFOs Are Real and then the second post Bases on the Moon and the replies all run together under the original UFOs header instead of each post under UFOs having its own line and each containing its own set of replies. The way it is set up now looks like you are going to get a ton of posts instead of threads that would contain all those separate posts and replies. I guess what I’m trying to say is the old template was better designed for compartmentalization and consolidation. Does that make sense?
Right. The way it’s presented now reminds me more of Facebook? Is that right? (Never had a Facebook cause I saw right through the deception. Looks like a site to pull people together, but it’s just gonna divide and tear people apart. Biggest flaw: everybody’s ex is on there. It was a recipe for disaster.)
