I’m not 100% sure I understand what you’re trying to describe, but I think it has to do with replies appearing right under a post?
When someone replies to a post, it can be read by clicking “1 Reply” (or whatever number) under the original post. However, the reply will also appear in its normal chronological order at the bottom of the thread, like in most forums.
In other words, just because a reply can be read under a post doesn’t mean it doesn’t appear at the bottom of the thread as usual.
I do see a weird, corrupted version of the forums still online. It’s like they cloned it from a cache and added gambling ads in there. I’ll see if there’s something I can do about this, I thought it was completely offline.
If the feature exists, moderators (or you in this case), could approve certain megathreads to have their own category to keep discussions more organized. Users create overlapping topics without realizing similar threads already exist, since they tend to pile on top of one another constantly or have to scroll down all the way to find it. For broader subjects like the pandemic, AI, politics, technology, 5G, etc, designated megathreads could be where smaller posts related to the topic are shared. While more specific or niche topics that arent general or don’t fit in anywhere is when individual threads are created.
The only way to make viable threads in the current format would be to use the reply button exclusively for a post so that all replies to that post are under that post, and not have them also added to the main stream. So the Superflu article would say 57 replies and then you open the replies. That would keep those replies separate from the next article in the “thread” which would have its own replies. As it is, some people use the reply button, and some people just post in the stream. But either way, it all ends up in the stream. So really no threads, just a stream. By using the reply button exclusively and not putting replies in the stream it would look like:
The End of Humanity
Scientists Create Superflu
57 Replies
Zombie Monkeys
46 Replies
Then you click the replies button to see them. That’s basically how it worked on the old board below.
See how each post starts a thread with replies all in the same “box” for each post? With the current format, it seems it’s more about mixed posts and replies instead of the post creating a thread, and then all replies to that post staying in the “box” for that post. No big deal, just pointing out that the old set was more streamlined.
When I click on a video, I am now receiving this message instead of the video playing. Everything was working fine until today. It says to sign in, but I can’t find a way to sign in or log out and log back in. Is there a button for that? Anyway, no joy on videos at the moment.
I’m wondering if i have to wait a full 24hrs to replenish my like ability. I did get a notification that its increased from 24 to 50 but I was only able to like so many(not 50)and it’s back to saying I have to wait again

I’m still trying to understand what you’re looking for exactly. The old forum worked very similarly to this one. You’ve posted a screenshot of the News and Current events category inside which are several threads. There is also a Current Events category here (Current Events - Vigilant Citizen Forums) inside of which people can post threads.
Wouldn’t posting a new thread in that category keep replies organized like in the old forum?
As @Ambidex said, another alternative would be to create sub-categories such as “The End of Humanity” inside of which people could create new threads.
It could be done, however, that would make the forum somewhat convoluted, with multiple categories and sub-categories.
No sweat, I’m getting used to it now. Like the old board, we can just use a quote box in the reply to reply to a specific article or point. I got it now. Thanks.
