Below is a purely geometric argument using spherical geometry and observed sunrise times that shows the Earth cannot be flat. No satellites, gravity, or space photos are required.
1. Observable fact (the starting data)
Empirically:
Sunrise does not occur everywhere at the same time.
Cities separated mainly east–west experience sunrise at different clock times.
The time difference is proportional to longitude difference:
Time difference≈24 hours360∘=4 minutes per degree\text{Time difference} \approx \frac{24\ \text{hours}}{360^\circ} = 4\ \text{minutes per degree}Time difference≈360∘24 hours=4 minutes per degree
Example:
London and New York differ by ~75° longitude → ~5 hours sunrise difference.
This relationship holds globally.
This is a measurable fact anyone can verify.
2. Model A: Flat Earth (plane geometry)
Assume the Earth is flat.

The Sun must illuminate the surface from some direction.
The boundary between night and day (the terminator) is a straight line on a plane.
Consequence
On a flat surface:
Every point on a straight terminator line must experience sunrise simultaneously.
Time of sunrise depends only on distance from that line, not longitude.
Fatal contradiction
But in reality:
Points on the same latitude but different longitudes experience sunrise at different times.
The time difference is consistent worldwide and proportional to longitude.
A flat plane cannot produce:
A continuously shifting sunrise time that depends smoothly on longitude.

If I look straight up and see a full moon at midnight, I can imagine that the sun is somewhere below my feet, reflecting on the other side of the earth.
Same concept goes with any planet in our solar system, and the earth’s moon relative to your point of view. You can see with your own eyes that the direction of the sunlight reflecting on each planet and our moon at the same time will be beaming from the same direction where the sun’s position is.
In a perfect lunar eclipse, from your point of view, you can imagine the sun’s position behind you beaming on the other side of the earth, creating the earth’s shadow on the moon.

Something else that seems somewhat comical is the struggle with the fact that the Sun (which heat us almost 197,000,000 square miles of Earth’s surface) is 92,600,000 miles away, while accepting that the U.S. national debt is currently climbing from $38,500,000,000,000 ($38.5 trillion - a number that is over 400,000x larger).
If the Earth is flat, there’s a very simple way to prove your theory:
Charter a boat to the great, vast Southern Ocean that is predicted by your flat-earth theory.
If the Earth is flat, the oceans of what we currently know as the Southern Hemisphere are predicted to be roughly ten times their currently known size.
Take a boat. Go get proof.
I don’t think the Earth is flat. Indeed, I’ve been high enough up in a plane to see the curvature of the Earth. But I do think flat-Earthers are often bad at math.

I think NASA has been lying to the U.S. public for a long time - particularly about the moon landings.
However, I don’t believe we’ve been lied to about the basic nature of the planets.
The theory I’ve heard that I favor is that the Apollo program was faked to scare the Chinese - but it was not faked because the Earth is flat, but for two other reasons:
We don’t actually have the level of radiation shielding needed for interplanetary travel yet, or even safe travel to the moon.
Other planets and even the moon may not actually be as empty of intelligent life as we’ve been told.
Again, this is where everything has to be taken with a grain of salt.
I can tell you that with a flat Earth, the math simply doesn’t work out.
I’m always open to debates about hidden secrets, however. NASA has certainly been dishonest with the U.S. public, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are hidden military secrets in Antarctica.
