Jesus was not God

We know Jesus wasn’t God because he said so himself, look..

“Why do you call me good?..No one is good except God alone" (Luke 18:19)
“Only God knows when Judgment Day will be, I don’t know myself” (Mark 13:32)
“I say nothing of my own accord, I only say what my father tells me to say..” (John 12:49)
“I am going to the Father, for my Father is greater than I” (John 14:28)

If Jesus was God, why did he spend the first 29 years of his life making tables and chairs in the family carpenter shop instead of running the universe?..:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The following excerpt is from the eighth chapter of John in the KJV, to illustrate why attempting to cherry-pick a single verse, and then attempt to twist its meaning, is extremely deceitful.

John 8:12-32 KJV
8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

8:13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

8:14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I AND the Father that SENT me.

8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of TWO men is true (Deut. 17:6; Deut. 19:15).

8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that SENT me beareth witness of me.

8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father ALSO.

8:20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

8:21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

8:22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

8:25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him.

8:27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man (John 3:14-15; Num. 21:8-9), THEN shall ye know that I am he (the “Son of Man”, NOT God - Num. 23:19), and that I do NOTHING of myself (God is obviously ALL-powerful and ALL-Knowing at ALL times); but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.

8:30 As he spake these words, many believed him.

8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus NEVER said “I am the ‘I AM’ your God” (as God did in Exodus 3:14), nor did Jesus ever infer that.

Instead, Christ-Jesus told us that he was the “Son of Man” (80+ times) and the “Son OF God” (50+ times) and that he (Christ was sent by God (50+ times) and that all praise, power and glory belong to His Father, Who is Christ’s God (almost 200 references in the Gospel accounts to Christ praying to Father, obeying Father, being taught by Father, giving thanks to Father, giving Father all of the glory, and telling us that Father is greater than everyone else, including Christ).

If one wishes to follow Christ and THE Example He set for us while in the body of Jesus, then they NEED to do as Christ did and still does.

John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.”

John 8:58, “Very truly I tell you . . . before Abraham was born, I am!”

Thomas the disciple addressed Jesus as “my Lord and my God” (John 20:28)

Titus 2:13 encourages us to wait for the coming of “our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”

John reiterates the fact of Jesus’ deity: “The Word [Jesus] was God” and “the Word became flesh” (John 1:1, 14). These verses clearly indicate that Jesus is God in the flesh. Paul instructed the Ephesian elders to “be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood” (Acts 20:28). Who bought the church with His own blood? Jesus Christ. And this same verse declares that God purchased His church with His own blood. Therefore, Jesus is God.

None of those verses state nor do any of them imply that Jesus is/was God. And most of them have already been addressed in the other thread entitled “The Trinity Delusion”.

The two primary, satanic reasons that people are so adamant about twisting the Scriptures into saying the exact opposite of what God has told us through all of His Prophets, and then finally through His Anointed One, are:

  1. so they can con themselves into believing the LIE that only God can keep His own Law (as if God is some sort of tyrant who supposedly gave us a law we can’t keep, so He could punish us for not keeping it); and

  2. so they can believe it’s possible to kill God, just like the scribes (lawyers) and pharisees (politicians) believed they were doing when the murdered Jesus (the human son of Mary that Christ - God’s Firstborn/Eldest Son – incarnated).

Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness/tell lies [not even to thy “Self”, neither to, nor] against thy neighbour.

false witness, ok.

Now you telling me that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Alpha and Omega, the Word of God, Immanuel (GOD WITH US), is not God too is way more serious.

Btw, He is NOT Michael too

God:

Our ALL-POWERFUL God, Who is a Spirit-Energy Being can NEVER be subjected to human limitations:

Numbers 23:19 GOD [IS] NOT A MAN, that He should lie; NEITHER THE SON OF MAN, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do [it]? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?

Jesus (who referred to himself over 80x in the Gospel accounts as the Son of Man):

John 4:21-26
4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.
4:24 GOD [IS] A SPIRIT: and they that worship Him MUST worship [Him] with their spirit (Being) and in Truth.
4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am [he].

We could even go so far as to say it’s BLASPHEMY to say Jesus was God.. Satan has probably duped people into thinking that so he can have a good laugh…I mean, it’s almost funny when some people claim God used to make tables and chairs in the family carpenters shop instead of running the universe..

Daniel 10:21 But I will show thee that which is noted in the Scripture of Truth: and [there is] NONE that holdeth with me in these things, EXCEPT Michael your prince (Eno. 67:1; Rev. 5:3; 5; 9 & 12:7).

Here is Prince Michael/Christ sealing up the “Book” Bible until the end-times, when He (Prince Michael/Christ) alone will “break the seals” and explain to this world “the mystery of God” (Rev. 10:6-10).

Daniel 12:1-4
12:1 And at that time shall Michael [the Archangel] (Eno. 20:5; 36:1; 40:8; 58:1; 59:9; 57:1-2; 70:4; Rev. 12:7; Sura 2:98) stand up, the Great Prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the Book [of Life] (Rev. 13:8; 17:8; 20:15; 21:27; Sura 83:20).
12:2 And many of them that sleep in “the dust of the earth” (Gen. 13:16; 28:14) shall awake, some to Everlasting Life, and some to shame [and] everlasting contempt.
12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to Righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
12:4 But thou, O Daniel, SHUT UP THE WORDS, AND “SEAL” THE BOOK (Rev. 5:1-5), [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and [evil] knowledge (1 Tim. 5:20) shall be increased.

Revelation 5:1-5
5:1 And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a Book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals (seven in God’s “Code” means ALL or COMPLETELY).
5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the Book, and to loose the seals thereof?
5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the Book, neither to look thereon.
5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the Book, neither to look thereon.
5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Source of David, hath prevailed to open the Book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Lol, you are using books that are not in the Holy Bible, you lost me there for good.

The Books of Daniel and Revelation are (or should be) found in every Bible.

The cross-references are to show everyone how frequently these simple concepts are found throughout Scripture (ALL of God’s Word).

IF “Jesus is/was God” or the 3=1 “trinity” nonsense were actually some all-important central Biblical theme, then those doctrines would be stated PLAINLY and be found repeatedly throughout Scripture.

Instead, they are found NOWHERE. There isn’t one single reference to “Jesus is God” nor to any “trinity” nor does it tell anyone to worship Jesus or pray to a “trinity” anywhere in Scripture. Those doctrines are found only in the made up traditions of men which, as Jesus said, make the Commandments of God of no effect (Matt. 15:3-9).

If Jesus was God, I’m Mary Poppins..

Jesus said -“..whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God” (John 11:26/27)

“The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands” (John 3:34-35)

Jesus said- "You have one father, and he is in heaven!” (Matt 23:9)

“There is one mediator between God and men- the man Jesus Christ” (1 Timothy 2:5)

God himself said - “This is my beloved Son, listen to him” (Matthew 17:5)

“God, spoke in times past by the prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son” (Hebrews 1:1-2)

“..the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1: 14)

Jesus regularly prayed to God, yet if he was God why would he pray to himself?

Nor is he The Almighty even now. Jesus was and still is the son of Mary, who is herself a great-grand-daughter of Adam, the first Prophet of The Almighty.

AI Overview

“People of the Book” (Arabic: Ahl al-Kitāb) is an Islamic term for followers of monotheistic Abrahamic religions who received divine revelations before the Quran. Primarily, this refers to Jews (followers of the Torah/Tawrat) and Christians (followers of the Gospel/Injeel). The term sometimes extends to Sabians and Zoroastrians.

Key details regarding the “People of the Scripture”:

  • Definition: In the Quran, they are recognized as groups who received earlier scriptures from God.

  • Identified Groups: The core groups are Jews (followers of Moses) and Christians (followers of Jesus).

  • Context: While the Quran refers to them as “People of the Book,” it also differentiates them from “those who were given the Scripture,” which can include a broader range of receivers of divine guidance, including prophets like Abraham, David, and others.

  • Role in Islam: They are distinguished from idolaters and were historically granted special legal status under Muslim rule due to their shared monotheistic background.

  • Extension: Some interpretations historically extended this classification to other groups, such as the Samaritans.

In the context of the Bible itself, the “people” are generally defined as the Israelites/Hebrews (Old Testament) and the Church (New Testament).

one day you will fall on your knees and confess that Jesus Christ is The Lord.

Everyone who loves and obeys Christ should be doing that now, as Christ is the Head (Lord) of every man. But that does NOT make Christ God (our Father in heaven).

Philippians 2:9-11
2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him (Christ), and given him a name which is above every name:
2:10 That at the name of the Saviour every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in Earth, and [things] under the earth;
2:11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Christ Jesus [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
