The only Iranian threat to the Hormuz Strait comes from their big shore-launched anti-ship missiles, so if Trump hasnât yet wiped them out the threat remains.
Iran also has hard-to detect on radar small (8-foor wingspan) drones, so in a saturation attack against ships some are bound to get through the defensive umbrella of NATO warships ; their warheads are relatively small but could still do damage, especially to the ships vulnerable radar systems which if taken out could leave the ships blind to follow-up waves of big anti-ship missiles.

The Iran War will make or break Trump and his Administration, I said at the start of it that maybe heâs bitten off more than he can chew, and his advisers (Hegseth / Vance / Rubio) must share the blame too.
Sure, theyâre bombing the hell out of Iran, but they seem to have forgot the old military maxim- âAircraft alone canât win warsââŚWe saw that in WW2 when Allied bombers turned every German city to rubble over 4 years, but it still needed boots on the ground to finish off the nazi regime.
At the moment Trump has scored a goal by killing many of the regimes top leaders, but Iran has also scored by closing the Hormuz Strait, so overall the score is tied at 1-1..

True, the Establishment has the option of mercenaries and rag-tag groups like ISIS (Qatar essentially bankrolled ISIS) but the situation is different now. I doubt that GCC countries now have the appetite to bankroll anyone; given their current economic debacle and also knowing full well that they are shoring up Israelâs hegemonâŚ.so the Establishmentâs only option is a draft but it also guarantees that the political system will break as a resultâŚand they know it.
