AI Overview

The storyline of the first three Diablo games follows humanity’s desperate struggle against the Prime Evils, centering on Diablo’s resurrection in Tristram, his brothers’ plots across Sanctuary, and the final clash in the High Heavens.

Diablo (1996)

  • King Leoric turns mad in the town of Tristram after his youngest son, Albrecht, is kidnapped.
  • Archbishop Lazarus shatters the soul stone of Diablo, releasing the Lord of Terror into the catacombs.
  • A brave hero (Prince Aidan) defeats Diablo and attempts to contain the demon’s soul stone by driving it into his own forehead.

Diablo II (2000)

  • Corrupted by the soul stone, the hero becomes the “Dark Wanderer” and travels east, leaving a trail of monsters.
  • Diablo and his brothers—Mephisto and Baal—try to permanently break open the gates of Hell.
  • A new group of heroes slays Mephisto and Diablo, and later destroys Baal, forcing Archangel Tyrael to shatter the Worldstone to stop corruption.

Diablo III (2012)

  • Twenty years later, a falling star strikes the old Tristram cathedral, waking the dead and killing Deckard Cain.
  • A new hero fights through the Lords of Sin (Azmodan and Belial), but the witch Adria tricks Leah (Diablo’s biological daughter) into becoming the vessel for the unified Prime Evil.
  • The hero storms the High Heavens, defeats the mega-demon Diablo, and later stops the rogue angel Malthael from wiping out all of humanity.

AI Overview

Assuming you mean the classic strategy game trilogy Heroes of Might and Magic (1 to 3), the storyline covers the brutal unification and continental wars of the world of Enroth and the continent of Antagarich. [1, 2, 3]

Note: If you were instead looking for the NBC sci-fi TV series about Claire Bennet, Peter Petrelli, and Hiro Nakamura, please specify! [1, 2, 3]

Heroes of Might and Magic I: A Strategic Quest (1995)

  • The Premise: Set on the continent of Enroth, Lord Morglin Ironfist flees a war-torn realm through a magical portal and arrives with a band of followers. [1, 2, 3]
  • The Conflict: Ironfist must fight a bitter war of succession against three rival lords (Lord Slayer, Queen Lamia, and Lord Alamar) to claim the continent. [1]
  • The Resolution: Ironfist triumphs over his rivals, defeats Alamar, and unifies Enroth under his banner to become its rightful king.

Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars (1996)

  • The Premise: Following King Morglin Ironfist’s death, a bitter civil war erupts between his two sons over who inherits the throne.
  • The Conflict: The player chooses a side between the good-aligned brother Archibald and the evil-aligned brother Roland.
  • The Resolution: In the canonical storyline, Roland Ironfist defeats Archibald (who is turned to stone for his treachery), securing the crown and establishing stability across Enroth, though lingering conflicts pave the way for external threats. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia (1999)

  • The Premise: Shifting focus to the neighboring continent of Antagarich, King Nicholas Gryphonheart of Erathia is poisoned, and the nation is suddenly invaded from the shadows by the underground Dungeon overlords of Nighon and the Necromancers of Deyja. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • The Conflict: The king’s exiled daughter, Queen Catherine Ironfist (wife to Roland from HoMM II), returns home to rally the remaining Erathian loyalists. She fights a grueling multi-faction campaign to expel the undead and demonic occupiers. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • The Resolution: Catherine successfully uncovers the truth behind her father’s assassination, drives back the Necromancers, and restores the kingdom of Erathia to its former glory. [1, 2]

Wow, amazing! I could say the same for myself concerning delayed puberty.

Regardless, I enjoyed Rollercoaster Tycoon too, and The Sims, and also Age of Empires.

Really wish I could go back there and stay there too, without forgetting to make some changes though!

Thanks for posting! I take it you’re using a personal computer too?

Same haha

I did a lot of PC but also PlayStation/Xbox

Also sometimes rarely played usual brands like GTA, Halo, etc

Yea the gaming Quality and industry was way different back then before developers were taken over by corporate interest. There were some images around of how the original developers changed from young men to being dominated by foreigner females

Were you ever into Dota?

Honestly, no I never actually got into Dota but it looks awesome. think I ran out of cash buying a bunch of other Expansion Packs haha , Were you a big player back in the day?

Okay, nice. I wasn’t that much of a big player but I guess I played it maybe a little too much maybe.

I’m no more into it now although I do keep the memories. The first version could have been enough.

Honestly, the original versions of games usually hold the real magic anyway before things get overly complicated. It’s awesome we got to experience that era of it. I do think and hope the gaming industry will do a good come back soon

I’m sure it will, even if that means after death does us apart, whosoever we may be.

PC-Game 'abds theme lyrics (although re-imagined)

Any man may
Earn Through
Skill and courage
A single favor

If he will face
The fear of the
Ancient city

And slay the four
Great guardians
Who have stolen
Our citadel

Our hero stands
Before The God
And asks that

If he fulfills
The quest
That he shall join
The kings as an equal

Only the hope
Of the
Hero’s failure
Comforts the kings

The warrior
Departs for the
City of legends

Preparing to
Carve one more
Story on
Its walls

i’ve been big into Elden Ring and No Man’s Sky lately. I’ll always love Red Dead I and II. Shame Rockstar Games is pretty evil. I’d probably assume the same for FromSoftware and Hello Games, but they make some amazing games no doubt.
