i once entertained a lady to tea because she said she was a christian, but it turned out she was a Rapture Cultist, so I asked her to tell me about it and she said something like- “It means on judgment day all christians will be raptured away to heaven, leaving everybody else wondering where they went”
I then said- “But what if the christian drivers of cars, buses, trains and planes suddenly disappear, wouldn’t that mean there’d be carnage as the driverless vehicles and planes careered around crashing into everything?”
“Yes” she said, “but that can’t be helped, and anyway, airliners always have a christian and nonchristian in the cockpit so that if the christian pilot is raptured away, the nonchristian can take over the controls”
I never invited her to tea again because i think Rapturism is pure baloney, what do VC members think?
Yes, ‘Rapturism’ is yet another ‘vanity cult’ for people who like to think they have ‘hidden knowledge’ that the rest of us don’t have..![]()
Same with the Catholic, Jehovah’s Witness and Mormon Cults etc, all completely off their rockers with satan pulling their strings, but they can’t get under the Bible’s radar-
“If anyone preaches a perverted gospel they’re accursed” (Gal 1:6-9)
Written evidence of clear Rapture cultic ideas going right back to the time of Paul! Who knew!! Perhaps a combination of J Nelson Darby and the Mandela effect?? ![]()
13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NKJV

Yes, it’s a classic example of how cults twist verses to suit themselves, Rapturists think it means they’ll suddenly vanish into thin air without any fanfare.![]()
Fact is, Jesus said he’ll return on judgement day- "At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.." (Mark ch 13)
So Rapturism is satanic because they believe Jesus WON’T be coming back.
As a non-satanic Christian who believes in a biblical case for the Rapture, I believe the following…
At some point, the Lord calls time on the Church age and the time described in the Bible as Jacob’s Trouble begins. Daniel 9 gives the timescale and 9:27 hints at some of the detail.
I believe that many people will saved during the period that follows, even while the judgement events of Revelation are unfolding.
I don’t want anyone to go through this and would rather be around to stand against some of the deception that will be coming down the line, if Revelation 13 is an indicator of where things will head.
I believe that at the conclusion of that time, Jesus will indeed come back in glory, wrath and judgement on the kingdom of the Antichrist. I don’t believe the catching away and the return are the same event, they take place at least seven years apart.
I have what I believe to be solid biblical reasons for this view. I might be approaching it with the wrong standpoint (dispensational, pre-trib, pre-millennial, non-replacement theology) but I don’t think that is automatically satanic ![]()
