The police in my country (Germany) have a new nationwide campaign with countless posters (in different varieties) hanging everywhere and asking men to keep their distance from women in public - I mean REALLY keep their distance. When jogging or just walking on the same sidewalk for whatever reason (even if you are just on your way home) and there happens to be a woman some distance in front of you, you should change the sidewalk.
And when riding the bus, be sure not to just sit next to a woman - you best sit on the bench at the very back of the bus (yes, they actually suggest that). And it goes without saying that all the women in these posters are very white. Well, the men are too, but well… the way they are dressed makes me think that they really are just a stand in for ethnic minorities and the truth is, they are.
I was just joking in my other comment about how not all Germans are Nazis… well… about that… they kinda are… or at least VERY racist. Because the truth is, this isn’t a thing, at least not for WHITE men in Germany. I mean I am a white man and lived in Germany most of my live and I always wear black and I am big and fat and bearded and unkempt and look creepy as hell (I even VISIBLY carry a knife with me at all times). Yet never ever, in my live did someone complain that they feel threatened by me being close to them in public, much less demand I switch sidewalks or ride at the back of the bus.
Which isn’t to say that Germans won’t demand that of you - they totally will, but sadly only if you are NOT white o_O
