Why now? Puts me in mind of this passage from Matthew’s gospel:
36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

One theory is that the Noah’s Ark story can’t possibly be true because it would have been totally impossible to cram every living creature aboard because of lack of space.
However, if we think outside the box, perhaps the Ark was a ‘DNA Repository Craft’, easily capable of holding millions of creatures DNA samples?

What’s your scientific background, Ripcord? I came across some very interesting information on the likely number of creatures that would have had to be on the Ark and what would not need to be there. There are several clues in the text that narrow the list down…
I got a College of Preceptors science exam pass, it’s a fascinating subject, so tell us which creatures didn’t need to be on the Ark..
Incidentally perhaps the planet earth is itself the ‘Ark’ sailing through space with its precious cargo of creatures?
The movie ‘Silent Running’ touches on a similar theme, its ‘arks’ are huge spacecraft containing animal and plant life-

Christ, the Spiritual-Being and God’s Eldest/Firstborn Son, is prophesied to return at a time “just as the days of Noah [were]” when violence and corruption FILLED the Earth (Gen. 6:11-13).
Noah had a boat, and outfitted it for survival. How many have taken notice of the “signs of the times” and heeded Christ’s Warnings?
It turns out the soil inside the potential Ark structure is very different chemically to that of the surrounding landscape…
