As an Android user I did the Unthinkable :' / u.u

Spoiler: Ultra Geek tech confession ahead about smartphones and computers…

Work Productivity Vs Basic every day stuff…

As an Android enthusiasts from acquiring the FIRST ever original Google Tablet (Xoom) and Goole Android Phones, I finally did it… I had to… switched to APPLE! Because of the fake Plandemic I couldn’t teach my children using Microsoft laptop or android, it was impossible to run Teams, present the slide presentations and use webcam features (even with newer Android / Chrome devices. Finally decided to try Mac, even tried the iPhone for half a decade, in terms of productivity can’t switch back to any other OS.. Apple is winner for complicated superior productivity (word processors, video editing, etc); and let me tell you it’s A+.

Did ONLY apple for around 6 years, but now decided to SWITCH back to Android, got a Samsung and let me tell you, in terms of media consumption it’s Thousand years ahead of Apple. So I started researching about coverage reception in these smartphones, and it turns out, Samsung has one of the best network antennas in cellphones, SUPERIOR to Google Pixel’s or Apple iPhone flagship devices. (Yes Productivity it’s still lacking, I do NOT see myself working with Android/Samsung) but for web browsing, basic fast image editing, and excellent network coverage, Samsung wins!

So the ancient Apple Vs Google dilema to me is clear… In today’s demanding society, you can’t stick to one or the other. There just no fair fangirling over one specific brand, if you want to do Home work or Professional work, a mac it’s a most requirement. But to go out, want to play multiple media’s without issues on the go, have excellent reception, long battery life, etc Samsung seems to be the top winner :sunny:

Well, for me, neither Apple nor Google. Cause I use open source Android  And as a search engine I use Kagi (no promo here on my part as it’s definitely not for everyone). But it does have a neat feature that filters out both advertisement and AI generated content. Of course that doesn’t work on this forum

What open source Android you think is better? I’ve been wanting and looking for an open source Android but none have the advance full coverage Samsung has. And because I do visit remote areas and travel, I had to prioritize the network processor AND Flawless Camera. I did plug the smartphone to the computer to use a Terminal App to be able to finally unlock some advance disable and uninstall features due to all the samsung bloatware, AI and intrusive updates. All eliminated. Also fully disabled the samsung and Google apps such as contacts, gallery, calendar, browser, etc so I only use Linux and privacy apps such as Brave and Nextcloud which doesn’t upload data (photos, notes, contacts, messages, etc) to corporations, it does to a home private NAS instead which works as a personal cloud.

That’s already pretty good, but on stock Android you can never fully get rid of google and its surveillance, cause it’s embedded in the Play Services, and you need them to run pretty much any and all apps nowadays. On open source Android you can use Micro G to spoof it, but that doesn’t work on stock Android. As for which one to get, it doesn’t really matter - the only real distinction is between stock Android and open source Android and any open source Android is gonna be MUCH more private than anything you set up on stock Android.
