This is my first time posting in here, so please bear with me. I’ve been speaking to many people over the past few years, and getting a rather disturbing general consensus amongst a wide variety of Americans of all different ilks.
Backtrack to 2019/2020: the Pandemic becomes a worldwide event, instilling fear into the forefront of daily life, and even more fearful responses from the global community. We all remember the continuity, so I’ll not go into detail here. For myself, and people I have interviewed, the real issues came AFTER the “all clear” from the health community, and the return to normalcy.
Something happened in 2020, and nothing is the same. For many folks, the world became an alien and unfamiliar place, a new world that has become gray, depressed, and negative. People have lost the zest for life; the weather has become more unstable; date nights, holidays, and even family/friend get-togethers have become dull and superficial. Some have mentioned a loss of joy for even simple things, like emotions are wrapped in plastic, and we are just existing day after day until the end.
I’ve heard so many reasons, from every part of the spectrum imaginable, and they all seem equally valid. What I want to hear is YOUR story; what has changed for YOU, and how. I want this to be a space for people to say the things that they’ve been keeping silent on for the past 5 years.
Step up, the podium is yours…
